Hello and thank you for visiting!
2012 marks the beginning of Whole Pets Austin's fourth year in business; we couldn't be more pleased to offer our experienced and compassionate care. This past three years have brought many happy memories, and our knowledge of domestic animals has grown exponentially.
Though there was much to learn about running a business, I have always possessed a natural understanding of animals. As a child, my family hosted a menagerie of retrievers, cats, rabbits, hamsters and fish, and our backyard was a refuge for abundant wildlife. Through all the changes in life since, pets have remained a constant source of fascination and comfort.
Following high school I attended undergraduate in Boston, MA where I studied English literature, then returned to Austin to work in educational publishing. After several years I decided to help out a pet sitting business part-time and found that I really love walking dogs and playing with all sorts of creatures, and I value the freedom that comes with a flexible schedule.
Now that I operate Whole Pets Austin full-time the joys and challenges of this profession continue to amaze me. This city is such a wonderful place to work with animals; I have enjoyed volunteering for Emancipet and Austin Pets Alive, two fantastic non-profit organizations devoted to animal welfare.
When not out making the rounds or volunteering I can be found at Zilker park playing fetch with my obsessive Jack Russell Terrier, Brooklyn. Adopting Brooks has been one of the best decisions in recent years, every day she reminds me to take pleasure in the simple things, having lunch with a friend, jogging around the lake, reading a good short story, and most of all caring for your precious furr-family.
We look forward to meeting you!
